*Sigh* It's all over.............

Ever have one of those perfect days that you really don't want it to ever end???? That was my Christmas.....just way to perfect....Hayley opened her presents up Christmas Eve...Had a blast with her new bike and Game Boy SP...Ate a really big dinner then She went to her Father's (She's gone the rest of the week until New Years Eve) and the boys went to Grandpa's for Christmas Eve...Mike had I put together the boy's new bikes, just munched on cheese and crackers, smoked fish dip, and spinach dip...cuddled up together until the boys got home around 9:30pm...We got up around 4am to put the gifts under the tree and then went back to bed until morning when the sounds of the boys woke us up!

Yes our livingroom had that "shabby gift wrap Chic" look about it when they were finished but the smiles on thier faces told us that this was the greatest christmas ever!

But it wasn't over yet...And this is just one of those reasons that I love Michael as much as I do...We took the kids to see "The Polar Express" Last monday night....Well let me tell you...Glen grilled us ever since...Do we Believe in Santa?? and a million other questions North Pole related...See he's only 8 years old and this is probably going to be the last year he believes...his class mates are already spilling the beans somewhat so he's really questioning us...Well at any rate...We took them all to this movie...Glen was really taken by the fact that the boy couldn't hear the sleigh bells until the end of the movie when he believed...He finally could hear the bells!!! This child also was chosen to get the first present of Christmas and all he wanted was a sleigh bell that had fallen off the ropes that held the reindeer...To summarize....he got the bell and until old age...he could still hear the bell as he never stopped believing in the magic of Christmas...

WELL....You had better believe that Glen hooked right onto that...Did we hear the bells??? Do we believe....the sheer worry on his face! It was really cute....Enter Michael...He had on Christmas Eve found large jingle bells....probably about as big as your fist...He got a foot of red satin cording, frayed the edges (to make it look like it too came off a sleigh) and put it in a little white box for Glen with a note that said "Hope you always believe and can hear the bells....Love Santa" .....it was the last gift Glen opened....but let me tell you....it was by far the best...That bell has not left Glen's side..I had to go and grab a kleenex as it really was very touching....

I am sure later on in life when Wesley and Glen have wives and children....they will remember what Mike did....I hope they do the same!

So that was my Christmas...From what I can read sounds like everyone in Blog County USA had a great Christmas!

My niece and nephew had hit that point where they didn't really believe, so my sis and I pointed out something very important ...

Santa is only real to those who believe in him and if you stop believing, he stops coming. It worked. They don't truly believe in Santa, but they do believe in the spirit and they are keeping it alive.

Your post brought me to tears -- what a wonderful gift. :)

Hey Laura,

Glad you had a wonderful X-Mas. My Christmas eve was fun, X-mas was less than desirable.

My father decided not to show up, or call, hence left the boy with nothing more than a broken heart. Not because of the lack of gifts, but because he was really looking forward to seeing his grandfather that he only sees once a year.

That lead to a very angry e-mail sent his way by yours truly, and a few tears as I've come to realise how selfsih and self absorbed my biological dad can really be.

I have yet to get a reply to my e-mail and I probably won't get one. If he thinks we're spending next year (or years to come for that matter) he's out of his frickin' mind. The man has been off and on my sh!t list for years, and hurting the boy is the straw that broke the camels back.

Oh and Bill was nice enough to give me the flu. Just what I need.

Maybe New Years will go over better.... :/

Bah! I'm writing in broken english.

It should read if he thinks I'm waiting for him to show up next or in years to come, he's out of his frickin' mind...

My 8 year old is asking questions too. I'm sure that next year, she and her friends will sit down and discuss the Santa situation. They grow too fast.

I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful Christmas Tig.

Happy New Year!!
