Checking in......

Mike has the generator going so instead of the TV getting plugged in....I plugged in the computer to check bank balances (YIKES! hahaha)

Still have no power but we're okay....SHEESH ....this storm took us by suprise...lots of damage everywhere...Kids have been out of school all week and I have no clue (But it doesn't look good) about next week....Getting gas for your car and generators is a new adventure....3-4 hour waits...UGH!!! We didn't have this with the last two storms combined last year!!!! Not sure when we're getting power back....I hope soon but FPL said worse case senario is 75% restored by Nov 8th and the rest by the 22nd....Yeah...but at least we have the generators....it's just getting gas that's the sucky part...Been off work on paid administrative leave all week...but I have to go in tomorrow...might not be for the whole day but we'll see....

Yeah.....We have a hurricane coming and her name is Wilma...Who thought up that name???? Kids are out of School, and I am off work that day...

HI Guys!!! Long time no Blog too!!!

To give you and update...Manisa made it down here safe and sound and is staying here with me for the time being...She's going to help out with the kids if there is no school on Teusday...Kairi is just soooooo adorable...she's crawling and talking and OH....I'm loving it, loving it, loving it!!!! Manisa and I picked out her Halloween costume...Went to Wally world and I picked up and really shiny green fairy princess costume and Manisa just loved it...Has gossamer wings and all that....She's going to be adorable!!!

Started my Job at the Clerk's office on Friday with orientation....I came home brainfried from all the information they gave us....but all in all...I am really going to love it here...plenty of room for advancement and all that...I had to laugh when we talked about the hurricane and us working...seems that I still get paid when they close for a hurricane...I am okay with that!!! The Clerks office is closed Monday, don't know about Tuesday yet...will just have to wait and see...I figure they will have to assess any damage on Tuesday so I wonder if they will be open...Schools are closed Monday as well so the kids are all doing the happy dance...

Not as worried about this storm thought...I don't think we'll see much...but will have to see...ya never know...It still is planning to head right over us....yeah...I have plenty of water, canned goods, charcol, sterno and all that should we loose power...And it is a little cooler out so maybe we won't suffer the heat too much.....hopefully!!!

Well Guys.....It's finally offical! I have a job at the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts....I called today to clarify the date...She had orignally told me that I was to return on Oct 17th at 9am to finish up and then where to go for the fingerprinting and drug screen....but...she said that was a Friday...I realized that wasn't the case, that was a Monday and promtly called to clarify...

Well just got off the phone with her and she said she got everything back okay and that yes...she made a mistake...I needed to be there this Friday....I asked if I can now say I am employed at the Clerks office and she said "YES you can!!!!


Going to dance around the house now.......See ya!!!!

Need to explain something to me.....

I'm toodling around yesterday, had to take Wesley back to Toy R Us to return this video game that he purchased...Mike apparently didn't read the back as to why it was rated "T" for teens...

Mature Sexual Themes.....Nope don't really want an 11 year old boy playing that kind of game....Wesley was upset but understood....So he and I spent the time going over the backs of all the games so I could show him what ones he could get and what ones he couldn't....

So....He and I are parking and what do I see?

A Soccer Mom type in a Lexus SUV.....Really nice one....She and her kids are dressed in the latest from Tommy Hilfiger, you know the nice upper middle class type...

So tell me why in the world would she want to put stickers on the side of her Lexus that would make it look like it was rifled with bullet holes????? I have seen these kinds of stickers before...Golf balls stuck in glass....other things...But I really couldn't see the point for this....Is it going to make her look Cool? Oh yeah beware the soccer mom here...I had a good laugh as it was so ridiculous...

Why would someone want to do that????? SHEESH


At any rate....Still haven't heard back from the courts yet...Will keep you guys posted about that...They told me that I tentatively have the job but they would call me for sure after my Drug Screen and Fingerprinting...Even gave me a date to come in and finish the paperwork, and told me to bring a voided check for direct deposit....but I won't consider myself officially hired until I get that final phone call....

So keep those fingers crossed!!!!

Got the call I'd been waiting for....

Went up to my Attorney's office today to finish the paper work for my bankruptcy (long story-but I had to do this) and as I am waiting in the reception area....The Clerks office called me...This is the place I'd really love to work at but had just about given up hope of getting a call...She wanted me to come in to work a temp job for 90 day....going to meetings and typing up minutes...I had to explain that I really had no experience in that....but she felt I could do it as my data entry skills were pretty much thru the roof according to my tests...She understood about me wanting stability and my hesitation....Then she asked what I was really looking for...I explained that I was looking for just about any job there....even if it was clerk instead of Accounts Payable (They pay pretty good too) But I needed the benefits as well that come with a permanent position...She mentioned the accounts payable position that was in Family Court and I said that I thought they needed biligual (i'm not) She said that they are looking for anyone at this point so her response was and I quote:

"Well....We'd really like to get you on board with us...can you come down for a interview tomorrow at 10am???"

Really like to get me on board???? OMG!!!! That so made my day....my week!!!!! I said Yes...I'd most assuredly be there....even if I don't get the job...(A permanent one) ....just her saying that made my day....
